Pro-Ag Organic Farms is hiring a full-time Agronomist to provide agronomic knowledge and insight to the management team through field scouting, soil testing and analysis, and developing recommendations for plant and soil health to increase the productivity of the farm.
A full-time agronomist is a new position at Pro-Ag Organic Farms but will be a key team player to help us achieve continuous improvement in our productivity and stewardship.
Pro-Ag Organic Farms is a forward-thinking, fast paced organic center-pivot irrigated specialty crop farm in northeastern Colorado and southwestern Nebraska.
We pride ourselves on establishing and maintaining strong partnerships with customers and vendors.

?What you would be doing:
-Scout fields weekly for weed, insects, disease and nutrition issues and create recommendations based on findings?-Test soil and fertility-Schedule and source compost deliveries?-Take ownership of in-field product testing including data collection, validation and work with vendors as appropriate-Maintain field application records?-Compile, analyze and interpret test results and prepare progress reports-Lead weekly staff agronomy meetings and provide regular updates and recommendations to agronomy committee?-Monitor satellite imagery, verify anomalies with ?boots on the ground? work-Partner and facilitate relationship with outside agronomy consultants-Other farm duties as necessary?This job is for you if you have:
- Curiosity, attention to detail, and organization ?- Strong knowledge of crop science, soil science, and plant physiology- Proficiency in data collection, analysis, and interpretation- Experience with GIS software for mapping and spatial analysis- Familiarity with biochemistry and molecular biology techniques for plant research- Have a true passion for production agriculture and organic production- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail- Ability to thrive in a fast-changing environment- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment- Strong written and verbal communication skills- Ability to work outdoors and longer hours during peak seasonsWe are open to a range of experience levels for this position ? from a new graduate in soil sciences or related field to someone with significant relevant organic production experience.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
